As we are working our gardens and seeing what is produced. If we look beyond the production of vegetables we can see other benefits or results if you please. We have seen in some of our participants a change in their social communications, etc. One man has had a problem with alcohol, but it seems that now he is doing better as we pay attention to him and his garden. He is more communicative and enjoys working in his garden. Another man is also more active in being involved with others. All here at the mission seem to believe these results are because of the Grow Appalachia Program. We have also seen similar results with others, men and women. Thanks to those who funded this program, the results are more than just producing food. Its helping to build better community people, family members and all around better self esteem.
