Funding is now available for eligible Kentucky farmers to receive financial and technical assistance to implement on-farm conservation practices
Grow Appalachia and the Organic Association of Kentucky (OAK) are excited to announce a new partnership with USDA NRCS that will advance soil health, conservation, and weather resilient practices for Kentucky farmers and landowners through a Regional Conservation Partnership Program.
This new project will bring more than $3.8 million into Kentucky, directly for farmers and landowners to adopt conservation practices that advance and support soil health. Through this project OAK and Grow Appalachia staff will be available to support farmers with one-on-one technical assistance to support conservation planning, applying for financial assistance and guidance on the installation of conservation practices.
Support Through the Application Process
Farmers can receive assistance with applying for funding through the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) to support their conservation goals.
Developing Your On-Farm Conservation Plan
Farmers can receive technical assistance to develop their on-farm conservation plan, which includes identifying problems and opportunities, evaluating resources, and evaluating alternative practices to implement on the farm.
Implementing Conservation Practices on Your Farm
Farmers can receive technical & financial assistance to implement a variety of conservation practices, such as cover crops, riparian forest buffers, pollinator habitat, and much more.
