We were honored to welcome the Vanderburgh County World Hunger Advocate Group—a passionate and service-driven 4-H Club from Evansville, IN—to our mission site! These inspiring young leaders brought energy, compassion, and a deep commitment to fighting hunger in our community.

During their visit, the group constructed a raised, water-wicking garden bed on-site, now planted with green beans that will contribute to our ongoing sustainable food initiatives. But their impact didn’t stop there.

They went beyond the garden gate to assist one of our clients by weeding and tending to their large personal vegetable garden—bringing both care and companionship. That evening, the students led a hands-on micro-greens workshop, open to both our growers and community members. Each participant left not only with new knowledge, but also their very own mini micro-greens garden to take home and nurture.

Before wrapping up their visit, these incredible volunteers rolled up their sleeves once more to lend a hand in our food pantry, helping ensure that no neighbor goes hungry.

We’re deeply grateful for their hard work, generosity, and unwavering commitment to making a difference. Thank you, Vanderburgh County 4-H, for planting seeds of hope and nourishing our mission—one garden, one class, and one act of kindness at a time.
