The Quonset (Homestead) high tunnel is designed with a half circle roof profile. The design allows the tunnel to heat up quickly and is easier to construct.
The tunnel itself is 12 ft wide, 40 ft long and 7 ft high. The sides roll up to provide ventilation throughout and the rolling mechanism makes it easy for growers to do themselves.
The “Homestead High Tunnel” meets and/or exceeds all NRCS standards for grant-funded high tunnels and is a manageable size for all families.
